Happy Earth Day!
Earth Day is on Sunday, so don’t forget to do something nice for the Earth this weekend. Here are a couple of suggestions:
- Get a free CFL bulb from Home Depot and use it to replace a less energy efficient bulb. While you’re there, why not get enough bulbs to replace every light in your house?
- Don’t let water run down the drain while you wait for it to heat up. Put a bucket under that faucet and use it to water a plant (that’s double karma points for you!).
- Need I say… recycle!
- Refill that water bottle instead of putting it in the trash.
- Avoid buying products that have excessive packaging. How much energy does it take to seal those CFL bulbs in that plastic packaging anyway?
- Do something from one of Treehugger’s Green Guides. Like what? Go rechargeable on your batteries, use your travel mug instead of a disposable cup and go Fair Trade on your tea and coffee (don’t forget you can request a Fair Trade beverage at your local Starbucks - and pick up used coffee grounds to use on your garden at the same time), or FreeCycle your stuff. There are lots of things one person can do!
